The superfluous remix (one of many) that was created to publicise the reissue of Bowie's back catalogue on EMI (Ryko in the US). Gus Van Sant's video includes a vogueing Bowie, thumbnails of past glories and a performance by Louise Lecavalier of La La La Human Steps.

Ashes To Ashes (1980)

At a cost of some £25,000, Ashes To Ashes was, at the time, the most expensive music promo video ever made. Shot by David Mallet at Beachy Head and Hastings in May 1980. The single, taken from Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps), was released 8th August 1980 and reached the top spot in the UK charts.

Bowieography

I'm Gaz, and I've been an admirer of David Bowie's music since the 1970s. This blog brings together (nearly) all the animated screen caps I made for my Tumblr blogs, Bowieography and (back in the day) Bowieologist, here conveniently grouped together by their individual titles. Most of the official promo videos are represented, along with Bowie's acting roles and several live performances. There has been quite a lot of material that I haven't been able to track down, but I won't tell you what it is in the hope that you won't notice.
